Group structure
With effect from January 1, 2010, the businesses of the GEA Group were grouped into five segments without altering the overall portfolio of the group. Effective March 24, 2011, GEA Group successfully concluded the takeover of Convenience Food Systems (CFS), who are headquartered at Bakel, Netherlands.
With the acquisition of CFS, GEA has added to its group one of the most multi-faceted suppliers of secondary food processing and packaging machinery (meat, fish, cheese). A new, 6th, GEA segment under the name GEA Convenience-Food Technologies is created following the expansion of the product portfolio. The structure provides a clear alignment of technologies and applications within the group.
The GEA Group is led by an Executive Board and a Group Management Committee consisting of Segments Presidents. The Refrigeration Technologies segment of the GEA Group, led by Dr. Hugo Blaum realises almost 3.000 employees in approximately 20 countries with 39 operating companies.
